It's NBCAM! What is NBCAM you ask? Guess what? We'll actually tell you. It's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the ACS, which is the American Cancer Society, "The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) program is dedicated to increasing awareness about the importance of the early detection of breast cancer through a nationwide campaign. NBCAM started as a weeklong campaign in 1985 with 2 founding members. Today the American Cancer Society is one of many national public service organizations, professional associations, and government agencies that form the NBCAM Board of Sponsors. During October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the member organizations of the Board of Sponsors join forces to spread the message that early detection of breast cancer followed by prompt treatment saves lives."
SO, what better than to run a hilariously funny shirt which should get LOTS of attention and lots of people asking you "What's up with that shirt?" or "Why are you wearing that?" or "Where did you get that?" and then you can tell them that you bought it to support NBCAM, help get the word out, and to support breast cancer research... because that is right, we'll be donating a fairly sizable portion of the proceeds from the sale of this shirt to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure organization (because they're focused on eradicating breast cancer and the ACS is a little too vague in this case). You can find out more about them at their website. You can also find out more about NBCAM at NBCAM's site or at the ACS site.
Ok, so to recap, here's how it works: You see our shirt today and laugh. You buy a shirt. (Actually, you should probably buy 2 or 3 or 4 or more) You wear shirt. People laugh and ask you question(s). You tell them about NBCAM and ShirtaDay. We donate money to Susan G. Komen organization. Sounds like a win, win, win plan, no? We sure think so. Thanks for stopping by.
Oh, and if you don't like Pink, which we thought was a fitting color, you can pick your own color. It should still attract plenty of attention.
